DESCRIPTION:Calling all Hackers\, Makers\, Geeks\, Doctors\, Public Health workers and people with a passion to make things happen!\n\nGlobally 13 million people per year die of preventable diseases\, from infant mortality -13 out of 1\,000 live births in Detroit\, rivaling the rate of the West Bank at 14- to cardiovascular disease\, diabetes and infectious diseases.\nNew forms of access to information and engagement as well as new manufacturing and transportation modalities offer unprecedented possibilities for disease prevention in developed and developing countries. In 2014\, investors pumped $6.5 billion into 459 health technology startups across the US\, many of which originated at hackathons\, let’s start something in Ann Arbor!\n\nWe really beleive that new solutions in disease prevention come from a diversity of people tackling problems together\, each bringing their unique skillset.\n\nSo who should attend? YOU!\n\nStudents\, Academics and Professionals\, young and old\, we want you. If you're an\, architect\, a graphic designer\, a physician\, a developer\, an entrepreneur\, an engineer\, a patient or a caregiver.... if you think that putting your knowledge and skills to work for disease prevention might be cool\, we want to have drinks with you!\n\nEvent website\, applications etc will be updated in the weeks and months to come.\n\nPlease help us spread the word!
